Timing Question?

Post #1 by Mustang_Geezer » Mon May 18, 2009 9:48 pm

92 F-150 300 6....

Is the timing adjustable by moving the distributor or will the computer just compensate by retarding it back? Looking for a bit more power and a bit more gas mileage and figured I would ask before trying it.

Thanks,

Turning the dizzy adjusts the base timing, the PCM adjusts the variable part of the timing from the base but will not compensate for too much or too little base timing.

The '92 efi motor is touchy on timing, so be careful of ping.
