Seat Swap Options for 1977?

Post #1 by 56mulberry » Tue Sep 01, 2009 12:59 pm

My '77 F-100 has a broken-down-springed vinyl-covered bench (no head rest) seat in it from a '74. I earlier removed the cloth/contoured/fold-down armrest/lumbar supported upgrade somone had put in it due to stain/odor/color-mismatch issues (PO was a cigar smoker). I know that seat was from at least an 80 or newer because nothing 79 or older had the electric pump lumbar support-- and it was a direct fit bolt-in....

My question is: From what models (any year van or truck) will the seat bolt directly into my 77--which I assume anything from 67-79 will but what abouot newer?

Or would I be better off by completely disassembling, rebuilding, and re-upholstering the bench? Just rying to narrow down where to look......thanks DOUG

Maybe up through 1991 has same brackets and floor bolt spacing? Seems like a lot of aftermarket seats are same application from 73-91......DOUG
