Guys can you believe it

Post #1 by Broncitis » Sun Jun 23, 2013 1:15 am

I took first place and 500 dollars in stock class out of 15 and it was against the bents. the girl friend shot it and I will try and post it. I finally got the combo right, the undertake became the overtaker. the naysayers of the 300 six are no more and I didn't even have to cheat, all rules met, The first run I ran out of fuel on the secondaries due to a stuck needle and seat, fixed the problem and best of two runs I nailed it in 2nd gear low range and 6700 rpm with out ever slowing down and I was 5th to run out of 15 in second run and it gets easier later and still pulled it off. some still can't believe its a six, oh what a good day. They will post stock results on batcave racing in about a week, a good day for the 300 six. Thanks to my sponsor yacksich/long funeral home for believing in me, Bill Long owner.

A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Can you post up what they allowed in your "Stock class" race. I am curious about he details.
I simply must tell my buddys at work about this.
I take it this was a mud pit race?

just go to Batcave racing in NM on google and go to the site and it will tell the rules and post results so you can also verify my honesty, please check the new notice on the rules for 9 inches of vacuum and 6al allowed now in stock, it may take a week or two for them to post results for the clayton NM race.

Yes it is a mud pit race and NM runs a 100 foot pit which is excellent for me with just one gear, since you cannot successfully shift a t18 4speed, where I shine is off the line, I leave with the best and never get pulled down and am up to max rpm almost immediately within 7 to 10 feet and it will gut it out. I never loose wheel spin no matter how bad the pit, but if the mud is so deep it starts dragging on the axles and frame you are done, but so is everyone else, max tires in my class is 37 and I run 35's, I have a total of 9 inches of lift which is good, but once you start dragging axles and trying to push mud instead of pulling through it, it doesn't last long after that unless you are in one of the top classes with huge and wide tires and light vehicles and 800 plus hp to stay on top, stock, superstock and prostock, we are all bottom pullers. Some mods, supermods, outlaw, and open run on top.

To stay within the rules on single inlet carb I run a 650 4150 body with 4160 bowls with bowl extension plates with the transfer tube to stay in single inlet rules. I also use a 50cc shot in the primary circuit with four tubes coming off the shooter to feed the primaries and secondaries at the same time since I open both quickly and its set up for e85 via pump gas rules, so I run about 9.1-9.2 dynamic compression ratio with 12.5 static.

I've seen some local mud pit racers around hang a large mud flap from the front bumper. It is long enough to just reach under the front axle. Pretty good idea if allowed I think.
Also seen one guy pull up to the line and pull though a few feet and then back in the same tracks. Then of couse he puls back up and has fresh (Cleaner) pad to start on. I couldn't believe no one noticed his move.

I don't run the front flap, my engine compartment is sealed on the bottom and on the sides, I get zero mud in the engine bay, its a cut up 30x20 Budweiser banner. They have also posted the results on batcave racing and I took 1st by .017 hundredths of a second and third place was by another .017 hundredths of a second, wow was that close.
