Post #1 by Galaxie 300i6 » Tue Jan 26, 2016 6:26 pm

Check this out. If any body was looking for 240 rods here they are.

I just bought a set. For my 1967 custom project.

Just an fyi, I purchased a set of these and 4 were good, 2 had nicks in the beams. Some have a black coating on them and some don't.

I will be returning my set of six, so the count should be back up to 10 in a week or so. Use your own judgement on whether or not the nicks will be detrimental to your build.

Keep the 4 good ones and order 3 or 4 more from B & P rods.

I had to order 8 rods to get 6 good ones.

How much are the rods from B&P? I need to get some early 300 rods for my build.

I purchased cores so I could do the work on them locally so they were very cheap.
Miles told me the next batch I ordered would cost a little more so I would hate to quote a price.

Ask if he could wrap each one separately so they won't get nicked during shipping.

I'm looking for cores since I'm going to be having them rebuilt locally too. Seems like a waste to buy reman'd ones only to do more work to them.

The problem with re-manufactured rods many times is they these companies don't cull anything. They even take the most burned up and badly spun rods and try to renew them. I would much rather take an unmolested stock piece and recon it instead of taking a gamble on getting a rod that has been severely spun and tried to be redone.
