I was thinking about a 2x2 setup, but I already have a 4bbl carb. Haven't measured the final side dimension yet, im waiting for the guy doing the welding to tack it up after work tomorrow to shear the last piece of diamond plate. The bottoms 1/4" alum plate, with 3/8" thick reinforcing pieces welded on at the bolt holes. The top carb mount is 1/2"x7"x7" alum plate with 3/8" diamond plate to make the length. All tapped for 5/16" bolts/studs. Next is the valve cover spacer to clear the rockers on the head. I'm also designing a pull-push linkage to use the factory throttle cable with the demon carb, that's what the flat bar bolted to the fuelrail hold-down bosses is for.

I did the whole welding and cutting fabrication process myself, and based on them welds, not saying they are bad just not great, that you should definitely pressure test it with soapy water sprayed on it to ensure there are no leaks. just clamp a piece of flat steel or aluminum over the runner holes, and a plate with your carb gasket bolted down to the mount with a valve stem in it, pressurize to say 10 psi and spray it down with soapy water or windex and look for bubbles

Its going to get tig welded to finish, and the guy doing it is certified for aluminum hull work on our high speed ferries. I'm not to worried about it leaking. Those were quick spool-o-matic passes so I could get some measurements.

Oh ok, makes a more sense now lol, spool gun on thin aluminum just never looks very good
