Ford 240/300 P&C Distributor As A Spare

Post #1 by old28racer » Sun Jul 14, 2019 2:29 pm

I am looking for a spare points & condenser distributor for a 240/300 motor. I would like to find one a pick & pull yard. My question is are the 6 cylinder distributors found on the 240/300 only found on those motors?

Second question does anyone have a rebuildable 240/300 P&C distributor that they would pass forward?
Parts yards in my area don't have much to any 240/300 inline 6 stuff.

I noticed one of those links is an original new Ford/Autolite distributor that isn't rebuilt for about $120. Just in case you missed it.

I don't have a spare though. I wish I had kept my original load-o-matic instead of trading it in for a core.

Thanks guhfluh, I did miss that one but $120 is a bit steep for my project.

I can get you one, once the first frost comes. It's in a 74 econoline 100 out in the back of my neighbors place. Too many wasps, spiders, and other crap right now to get in there. I've got my old one saved from the 85, but it's been stripped of the P&C and has a pertronix kit in it.

The old 74 has been a mouse house for years...
