Remflex 3080 One Pc Gasket question

Post #1 by old28racer » Fri Jul 24, 2020 10:27 pm

I have used Remflex intake/exhaust one pc gaskets before on a Chevy 194 inline 6 and was very happy with the fit & quality. Just want to make sure the Remflex 3080 is the correct gasket for my 240 / 300 head that has a Clifford aluminum intake and long tube headers? Have others on this site used this gasket on their 240/300 heads? Comments.

Ive soured on the remflex. Took 3 orders to get one that wasnt damaged (poor package design). Then I had a blowout on one exhaust port because there wasnt enough gasket there to seal with my clifford longtubes. I welded some bead on the headers to seal better.

When i removed it to wrap my headers, I went with a flatout brand gasket. Its significantly less fragile and has upwards of 3 times the sealing surface area available. Its much thinner, though, at maybe .093". It does this while port matching to the head and int/exh manifold and headers pretty darn well. Needless to say, ill be buying these from now on.

What is the part number of the flatout brand gasket you used?

There is a "SQUISHINESS" FACTOR to the remflex that needs some practice to get right, and I too have had mismatch. but , for uneven or warped surfaces, I've worked with nothing better. Especially intake /vacuum issues.
For headers reflex is ideal.
a long love affair with the 300 six.
my lastest and final fling is a fresh 300 in an 88 ford f350 dually 4X flatbed
