Mod-Log Turbo'd 250 Build

I'm posting this in case it helps anyone out - Will PM'ed me the following info quite awhile ago when I was buying parts for the fuel system.

"I like to use an EFI style fuel pump. Just about any of those "inline EFI" ones will work. I've used the cheapy Carter one for 3 yrs. with good results. Here's a link.

Any pressure regulator will work so long as it's "boost referenced". We're using a Mallory 4309 and it works great!

For timing I currently use a MSD BTM (boost timing master). It retards the timing a set amount for each pound of boost. So you can run normal "full" timing at idle/cruise and then pull it out when boost comes up.
The other method is to limit the amount of mechanical timing advance that's possible. I did this method first and it worked fine. We used a Duraspark distributor for this. I just welded up the adv. slot in the mechical adv. plate so that it only have 10 degrees of adv. Then while the motors running at 3000rpm, set the timing at 25 degrees total. This may require some trial and error to get it right. You may have to totally limit the timing so it's doesn't move at all. "Locked timing" is the term. This makes it real easy, just set the timing at idle and it doesn't move regardless of the RPM.

I built our carbs. Check out

For the oil lines:
"T" off of the oil pressure sending unit near the back of the motor, drivers side for the feed.
For the return you'll need to poke a hole into your oil pan just below the mounting rail. I like to weld on a threaded fitting or a threaded piece of steel so I can screw in a AN fitting. The drain needs to be fairly large. > 1/2". "
