Info appreciated on instructions for modifying a Ford small block six mechanical fuel pump for boost referencing. Latest project is a Supercharged Bow-Through Carburetor setup and want to modify a mechanical pump for boost referencing.

thanks

Wired up an electric pump relay with safety oil pressure switch for the Maverick but still need to install a return line for a TB fuel injection type @45 PSI electric pump with bypass type Aeromotive Fuel Pressure Regulator with boost reference port.

Pretty straightforward to do,
Drill and tap a hole above the diaphragm ( some inline 6 pumps look upside down, the point is to drill into the chamber of the diaphragm on the "dry" side of the pump).
Install a hose fitting and plumb that to manifold pressure. As the boost increases, it increases the pressure on the diaphragm, raising fuel pressure.
In a blow through system, you may also want to also boost index the throttle shafts so as to avoid blowing vaporized fuel out along the shaft bores.
A plate beneath the carb ( which is also plumbed to see boost, same as the fuel pump), with a groove traveling to each side of the carb, intersected by a vertical hole drilled in the base of the carb , which touches the throttle shaft(s). This way the shaft will bleed boost both into, and out of the the throttle shaft hole which will prevent fuel/air from only blowing out into the engine compartment.

I went through this a long time ago, Paxton supercharger on a 289, and then on a 302. The good ol' days )
