5 speed behind a X-Flow?

No. The Aussie T5 used from late 1985 to 1992 in Falcons and Utilities has a different Input shaft length to the US non world class or World Class, but good news is its easy to fit up a US T5.

The most common X flow bellhousing always has a unique block bolt pattern, and one of four types of trans bolt pattern.

Borg Warner 3- speed manual,
Single rail 4 speed,
5 speed Single Rail,
TopLoader 4 speed (only 1971-1974, non cross flow)..

The T5 is rare; most were automatics.

What bellhousing do you have?

You need an adaptor plate to fit your donar US T5 gearbox to the bellhousing you have.

There are several different input shaft lengths, non of them are the same as the Australian T5.

Hi Jack!
I'm looking at an alloy X-flow, was wondering which bellhousing you used for your conversion to T-5 and how you handled the clutch slave?
I've been reading your Crossflow Chronicles but just want to make sure I have everything right in my head...so the best parts can be waiting when I get off this ship.
Thanks,
Ben

The T-5 adapter from California Pony Cars arrived today. It's simply a cast plate which locates the tranny in the bell housing, spaces the tranny out by about 3/4", and gives you a T-5 bolt pattern. The adapter requires that you drill two holes and tap one to mount the adapter. After that it just simply goes together!

Reviving this thread. The archive says he just uses a toploader bell housing. It looks like I'll be having a single rail 4spd bell. Can I use my T5 adapter to my US C7 200 bell on the single rail 4spd bell? I read somewhere 1 bolt lines up, with a toploader, so I assume i would jusg need to drill/tap for thr other 3 holes. The the adapter would go on then my US T5 will bolt right on. Sounds about right?
