Newbie here

Post #1 by Old man Dave » Wed Jan 03, 2018 8:30 pm

Just joined the site. Recently picked up a rebuilt six that will be going into my '56 Ford wagon. And yes, I am old.

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Old is subjective. I feel old some times but many of these engines we all love were made before my time. Funny, when I see a 97 ford truck I call it the new style.

I'll be 71 in a month. That's the oldest I've ever been. ;-)

It is just a little 200, but it has been rebuilt, came with a transmission, and was reasonably priced. What I really want to get eventually is a 300. If you're a purist, please don't hate me...I am doing what I can afford to do.

LOL yes I guess none of us getting any younger! I am a fan of all the Ford Six'es a built up 223 would be nice in your 56, but a 300 would for sure be even better. It's tough sometimes but in the end you have to do what your able to afford, so it's all good. Best of luck on your build

I always figured if I'm getting older that is good, if I stop getting older that would be concerning!
If you aren't too far and run stuck finding a 300 to build let me know. I have half a dozen here and I still haven't been able to kill the first one.
