Hello from West Texas!

Post #1 by jkrsummer » Thu Mar 08, 2018 10:32 pm

I've got a 69 f100 with a 250 from a 75 Maverick that's on the verge of needing a rebuild. I have a lead on a 300 rebuilder--so I'm wanting to swap out. Will keep you updated on how it goes. I also have an aftermarket hack for the hazard flashers switch if anyone's interested in saving $40.

welcome!
You have confused me,are you from West, the town in central Texas, that blew up? Or are you from the region of Texas in the west, containing, but not limited to the Permian basin?
Furthermore,is your engine a 240 big block 6 or a 250 small block 6?
Just had to ask,I'm old and get confused easily.....

Welcome to the Ford Six site jkrsummer, that's quite interesting that someone would have went to the effort to install a 250 six in your 69 F100. Especially since there are still so many 300's around. Good luck on your pickup
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

I'm in alpine, tx--not West, TX.

Not sure why it has the small block 250. That's not what I was told was in it when I bought it, but the parts weren't right from the parts store so went back to the casting numbers and voila! Prob just cannibalizing cars they had laying around.

I will try to find a good thread on which to post my hazard lights hack.
