New member with a 1962 Mercury

Post #1 by H8D-COMET » Mon Jun 11, 2018 6:38 pm

Hey guys, I have a 1962 Mercury Comet with a 170 and 2 speed trans. I am just finishing putting in a 200ci from a 1969 Falcon. Love the car and love the inline 6.

Nice swap. The extra 30 cubes are helpful plus you could upgrade to Duraspark II.

Also you could probably benefit from a copy of the Falcon Performance Handbook to get a good source for maintenance, tuning and performance tips.

... first year for the Mercury Comet, early styling still lookin' good with the signature Comet Fins. Glad to add another Comet owner in the discussions.

A big welcome to the Ford Six forum, post some pictures of your Comet when you can. Good luck on the swap  :hmmm:
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.
