Hello from Santa Cruz

Post #1 by ldm314 » Wed Jun 05, 2019 1:38 am

Hi all from the Santa Cruz mountains. I just picked up another Ford, this time with a 250 in it. I found the forums from google looking for some more information on tuning and performance. This one is my new daily driver so I am looking to keep things smooth and quiet but have a little more power. Other than a pretty bad exhaust leak it runs great. My current idea is to go with a fitech efi system and make something up with a small turbo I have here.

A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Thanks! I managed to run it empty today after getting stuck in traffic, it sure didn't like that. Yesterday though I drove 120 miles over mountains in hot weather with no issues. So far it seems to be all original. This weekend I'm going to be fixing the exhaust leak, change the oil, adding an HEI distributor, and see if I have an electric fan to put on.

So far it has been my daily driver. The weather ended up being too hot to swap the distributor and add the relays for it plus a fan. Exhaust leak is fixed with a new manifold gasket and donut. Found the carb loose on the manifold and got that fixed. Oil and filter changed, new plugs, so far another tankful of gas. Feels like there is a warped brake drum and tie rods need replacing. Fun to drive but really needs some more power.
