Introducing an inliner from PEI, Canada

Post #1 by Just_Fare » Wed Oct 25, 2017 3:11 pm

Hey folks,

I'm new to posting on this forum but have been an occasional lurker for the last couple years. I have found a wealth of information and what not here.

I drive a Sauterne Gold 1966 Ford Fairlane 500 sedan with a 200 l6. I got it bone stock with 47000 miles on it. It's now got a stainless header and stainless 2" exhaust, Porter muffler, HEI dizzy, and I've put a rebuilt 1975 250 large log head on it. Right now I'm still running the original Autolite 1100 with the adaptor / spacer from Vintage Inlines. I've also pretty much upgraded / replaced most everything else on the car, new power brakes, all new suspension and front end stuff, heavy duty 7" Torino wheels and '57 T-Bird poverty caps. I'll try to get a picture up sometime. I've become a member because I have to track down a carb spacer for the Carter RBS that I plan to put on.

Just wondered where you purchased your HEI. Unless you purchased one from me it was not recurved for you engine??

To wsa111: I don't recall exactly where I got the HEI from but I'm thinking it was an eBay purchase. Maybe I'll buy one of yours and A-B them.

To bmbm40: If parts are readily available for the small six in Canada, I've seen no evidence for it here, but I live on Prince Edward Island which is a small, backwards island in the Atlantic ocean with a lot of salt. I'm sure there are loads of parts out west (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta) but I'm probably one of a handful here with a Ford inline. Sadly, importing from the USA is cheaper than importing from western Canada. There are plenty of vintage cars here but they're all V8s. There's even a Corvair with a big block in it! Sacrilege on so many levels. I run the car I do because it gets good fuel economy, is very roomy inside, can fit my Rhodes piano and amp etc, and is quick enough to feel right.

Welcome to the Ford Six site Just_Fare, going to be a great driver once you get the parts combo dialed in. Good luck on the Fairlane
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.
