New to Fordsix with a 1966 F100

Post #1 by mjranchero » Wed Dec 27, 2017 12:54 pm

Hello. I am a longtime Ford truck owner but I sold my last truck, a 97 F250 460 to a friend and i cant seem to live life borrowing trucks when needed. I recently found a 1966 F100 with a bad 240 engine and a T18 4spd. I bought it and have decided to swap a 300 from a 1969 motorhome into it. I will keep the 4spd trans and expect not to have any balance problems as I mate the flywheel from my F100 240 to the 300 engine which had a flex plate. Thats my story for now. Nice to be here and I'd love to hear any comments on my planned project etc.

A Big welcome to the Ford Six Site, in my OPIN it's the best on the web for 240 and 300 six info! congrats on getting that 66 F100, the 1965 and 1966 trucks are a big faveriotes of mine. Good luck on your build, and be sure to save some of the 240 six parts too. It has some excellent items that are really good ones for a performance build up like the head, connecting rods, etc. and they are getting very hard to find.
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.
