Performance Handbook Question

Post #1 by 1strodeo » Tue Dec 20, 2016 1:56 pm

Hello All,
On page 7 of the handbook there is a Stock Cylinder Head Specifications table but it skips 1975 and 76...anyone know why? Someone said they didn't make the six those years but on page 2 there is a pic of a 1975 250 casting number.

:hmmm: Having once owned a couple of 1975 Ford Mavericks as well as a 1977 (they all had the 250 six, a C4 trans, and the same rear axle ratio), I can say that they were definitely made in those years! Info on the 1975 & 76 years of heads is limited, it maybe that those years of cores weren't available at the time the research was being done. From my experience the 1975 head castings visually look very much like the 1977 and up heads, performance in stock form was also very semular. Good luck
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Could be there was not any major changes for the 75 - 76 head castings.
