Post #1 by sprog777 » Fri Jun 16, 2017 5:23 pm

after making a turn my steering will not return to center. Nothing seems tight or worn in front suspention. What should I look for?

Check to see if the front end alignment is set right, you might need to add some more castor to get the front wheels to return to center. Also check that the steering box is set to the high point (centered) before checking if the toe in is right. You can get a rough idea by sighting from the rear of the car or you can use a string line too. Look across the face of each rear tire towards the front tires for any major difference, this will help you tell if the toe in is right. One other thing you might check is to measure the chassis to verify that it is square. Good luck

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

put a vertical level on your wheel and see if it's in more at the bottom. Also, I you have wheels offset to the inside that would do it.
