61 to 65 V8 steering with 250?.

Post #1 by powerband » Fri Jul 21, 2017 10:17 am

Only in this forum  :

I have a 61 with a 250 in it, the steering center link has been 'flipped' as per FSP handbook to clear the 250's low-mount starter and pan.

Is the 65 V8 steering gear already lower to clear low starter V8's?.

Will '65 V8 steering Pittman/right side Idler arm/center link FIT with clearance the for 250's V8 bell and starter position. ?.

I haven't found any forum member discussions or pics on this yet.

thankx

You may be able to use a PMGR starter to get clearance for your steering.

I am looking to replace the six cylinder steering 'flipped' setup with the V8 steering setup and need to determine if V8 setup will clear the 250 starter/bell/pan.
