1963 Ranchero better steering?

My '63 Ranchero has the orignal 6 cylinder 4 lug steering that is hard to steer at low speeds.Hate to park it! I know it the nature of the beast. have owned many many Falcons over the last 45+ years. I need an answer that hopefully not new steerig box at $600-$1000. Changing the steering to "65 help parking? And junk yard electric power steering as I know it whether it works undecided what works easier. What about "63 -"65 power steering. Help and its all about the cost. Thank you.

Another option is a ball bearing idler arm. I installed one on my 67 Mustang & it cut steering effort in half.
You may have to have it aligned with +1 positive caster if the steering wheel does not center after a corner.

What a great solution! Never knew these parts existed. Good resource for many members here.

I rebuilt my box for $350 and it seems to work great! If you live near Seattle, Red Head Steering does great
