NHRA Div III Finals - w/ FTF

Post #1 by THE FRENCHTOWN FLYER » Sun Sep 17, 2017 6:45 pm

Here is a streaming video from this weekends E.T.Finals.
My '23T altered is the only 300 six Super Pro car in Division 3. It is featured at the 2:48:30 point on the last time trial and at 7:50:00 on the first round. Unfortunately I lost by .006 sec but our team won the team overall championship today.

Very close FTF
Even a bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

Current project is a 1988 John Deere 420 Garden Tractor I need a few small parts to get it fixed, plus some cosmetic items, maybe a few attachments, if you happen to have or know of JD 420 parts would welcome the help!

My Ex-Inline 6 Fleet 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

UPDATE 2018:
I was number 38 on the 38 man team my home track selected to attend the 2018 Division Finals at Indy. There were about 160 - 180 cars in my class, Super Pro.

I was able to win three rounds before falling in the fourth in a double breakout affair. Our team finished third out of 16 teams.

UPDATE 2020

I just returned from the E.T. Bracket Finals at Indy. Once again I qualified to represent Milan Dragway. I had a blast but unfortunately did not win. You have to be good AND lucky, as every racer there is on his or her game. I lost in the second round on a double breakout, taking the finish line by .010 (about 20 inches) but needed to make it tighter than .004 (eight inches margin-of-victory) to win that round.

To put that into perspective imagine yourself standing on home plate when a major league pitcher fires his best fastball directly at your head. You have to duck to miss it 8 inches away from you but 20 inches away will be too much for the win.

I did get some videos and will edit them down. Some of the in-car movies did not turn out. I'll post the rest soon.

Once again many racers came up to chat when I was in the staging lanes. They liked the crossflow headed six engine. So many had stories to tell of their own experience with a 300 six truck, or their employers.
What fun.
