that Econoline tech site......

Post #1 by mutt » Thu Dec 27, 2007 7:52 pm

i have an impossible time 'signing on" to various websites. Ive tried unsucessfully a few times to sign on to that Econoline tech site.
While its geared towards "doghouse" econos, they have a heading for our sleek modern machines......if someone reading this is a member of that site, would you mind posting a question about where to get window channel for a 81 econo? thx,

Would it possibly be the same as a fullsized '81 truck? LMCTruck.com would have it if it is.

i went to Oldeconolines .com, & tried to contact someone selling windowchannel. I thought he might have a lead on 80's type.
But first I have to "join yahoo" which my computer, for whatever reason, never seems able to do.
if some kind soul seeing this also can jump whatever hoops are required to ping him over there, can ya giv him my eaddress? neoludd@earthlink.net Thx.....

This is Vic,,, Both John and I post all the time on Old Econolines,,, basically that is what the forum is all about,, " dog house " econos. Vans and pickups,, but MAINLY from 61-->67's. Not sure if this will help,, but there is also a forum on the 69-->74's,, (68 dropped production yr),, called the GENIIs,,,, it seems to be pretty quiet forum??? not much going on there, and perhaps the molding is different anyway??

I have not heard anything about what I assume would be called a GENIII?????????????,,,,,
There are some classic Ford specialists,, and also trying to think of a major glass supplier for materials,, name escapes the old brain cells right now,, but as I recall they had in bulk, and whsl,,, just about any kind of window felt or seals you could think of ,, complete with detailed pics in their catalog,,, major glass whsl supplier,, ????? will have to work on that one,,, dratzzzzzzz

Heres a few names to look at:?? Macs of course,,usually expensive but??
Obsolete Ford Parts Inc (Pickup/Bronco Catalog) ,,,,,,,,,Classic Ford Truck Parts,,,,,, Also,,, GREEN SALES,, but you need part numbers for them, and ONLY IF,, they happen to have some NOS stock that you need?? Usually not cheap either???????

You might be able to get a mesurement on what you have and buy a replacement from http://www.restorationspecialties.com It will be a universal part, but may work for what you need. They have a good selection listed on the online catalog.

Hope Mutt see this. He's been lost in the weeds since 2008 -- if you check the date of the post.
