in an 80 van. No matter how I try, I cant post the pics. I cant post of photobucket either. if you are interested, ping me at neoludd@earthlink.net and Ill email the pics. Its especially useful if you are thinking of a 4bbl with the large vac. diaphragms on the sides. There is VERY little room.....

Have you seen mpg increases with the Offy/2v/EFI manifolds?

I'm new to the Ford six and looking to increase the mpg on my '86 e250.

Mutt hasnt been around on the forums in over a year now. He moved to Ontario Cananda from San Diego and havent heard much from him. In this thread viewtopic.php?f=2&t=58922&p=462896#p462896 Mutt claimed he was getting 17-18 mpg with his set up. He has more details in other threads, but you would need to search through them to gather up the info/details.

If you click on his name, (in his post) it will take you to his profile. If you then click on "search users posts" you can scroll through and look for threads that may pertain to his setup and mileage reports. I know that he had several wherein he reported on some of his trips between San Diego and Montana. Happy hunting.
1 "76" F150 RC, LB, 2WD, 300, NP435, 9" open 3.00, special order 2-76/Delivered 4-76. Still "new".

I bought an 84 E-150 with most of the usual stage 2 package on it, including the offy c/holley 390. It ran way better after adding water heat to the intake as described elsewhere on this forum. I also shimmed the motor mounts 3/16 on the passenger side to guarantee carb to doghouse clearance. The vacuum port cap was abrading away over time before that. It's tight in there. The electric choke lives in the cab with me. I swear the first photos I ever post on a forum will be of this install. Learning curve impediment or whatever. It runs like gangbusters I must say. Next I gotta try a 500 Edelbrock. Now made by Weber??

Nashtooth:
What kind of mpg are you getting? Do you have the heated carb spacer too or just the manifold heat?

Randy
Sorry I missed your post. I'm getting 15 mpg at best. I suspect the C6 is the limiting factor since I have a 3.00 axle. I have both the heated spacer and the plate under the manifold; I believe the latter to be more effective though it is also the first change I made. I'm still intrigued with a 700r4 swap since its ratios fit my rear gear better than an AOD, and people would ask "why?"
