1965 truck accelerator linkage question...

Post #1 by paperboy1964 » Sun Oct 07, 2012 8:49 pm

I'm trying to replace a throttle cable setup back to the original accelerator linkage arm setup. I've got the parts, but the manual is not quite clear on the assembly. I'm looking for pics from the pedal arm end of the linkage as well as the carb/bellcrank end of the linkage.

whle i don't have an answer to help with the details, i have to ask why you want to convert back.
last time i drove a truck with a mechanical throttle was a very wild, unsafe ride, because the throttle took control of itself quite randomly after the engine mount broke, along with the rest of the truck going to heck with it. if it would have been a cable, i would have at least had a chance of controlling it
