With the intake so close to the shock tower. I am guessing most people just bypassed the heater hose connections on the intake.
I know there was a discussion about this with the log head. But, I don't think there will any effect on my install since I live in a warm climate.

Any input?

If you are talking about that base plate between the carb and intake log with the hose nipples front and back, you can leave the hose off. It does make a difference in really cold climates. In Cali, not so much. I just ran the heater hoses to the firewall and back.

If you are talking about the water-heated choke pull off, you probably need to keep that hooked up. Unless you can get by without a choke. I found it helpful.
