Valve spring installed height

First off wondering why the aluminum head ended up requiring 1.6 spring installed Ht? Was it to retain proper valve stem ht for the rocker arm geometry? Just to increase spring pressure with springs that were on the CI site? To keep vale seat cutting so valves wouldnt be set too deeply into the head?

Has anyone installed valve spring seat on the aluminum head? Which would require a 1.68 spring height to keep the spring at 1.6 installed height .08 being the thickness of the spring cup which gives a 1.6 installed ht 1.68 - .08.

I think it was because it was expected you would use a locator/shim under the spring to protect the soft aluminum (reference to such is made on the CI website, despite him not selling them)
