Recommended Setup

Hello all, first post!

I am thinking I will mega squirt my 90 F150 4.9, 4x4, ZF5. I am asking for recommended setup for ignition. Items that really work well with mega squirt. Trucks mission is a truck. Daily driver and huller, with and without trailer. Ive pulled a lot of the emission stuff and the ECU is not having a time with it. No emission standards where I am.

Thanks you much !

Are you in the states? Realize that even though certain areas don't emission test, The EPA still has the right, if not the inclination, to prosecute emissions violations. And lately they have been trying to clarify the stipulations of the Clean Air Act to keep modified vehicles off the street. It's getting a lot of push back from sanctioned racing organizations though, so I'm hopeful.

It will differ depending on which version you use. I've always ran V1 3.0 boards with the Ford TFI mods-

-using the stock ignition module. It seems to be the simplest way to do it. I ran a MS V1 3.0 board on my '94 for a year with a Comp 268H cam and 24 lb/hr squirters, switching back to the stock ecu when I got the stock cam in.

I highly recommend the 3.0 board as it has no SMC's (surface mount components), making it much more suitable for off road/truck use.
