Oil pressure light

Post #1 by Tighthead123 » Mon May 18, 2020 11:48 pm

I have fully functional headlights, turn signals, brake lights and tail lights. When I turn on my headlights the oil pressure light turns on? High beam light works.

Look for the White wire with Red stripe that's hooked up onto the engines oil pressure switch terminal the other end of this wire should go to a bulb stocket for the oil light hole. The second wire for that socket goes to power when key is on. Is it possable when you had the dash out that you put the wrong blub socket into the oil pressure light hole? Good luck

Hi Tighthead123, Did you find the oil pressure light socket to exchange for the dash / gauge panel light? These dash lights are the only light sockets that will be turned on with the headlight switch to aluminate the Speed O Meter and other dash gauges. The oil pressure light will only turn on when the key switch is turned to on and then goes out again when engine is running and has about 4 PSI or more of oil pressure. When you find it then swap those those sockets around.

Exactly what you said I switched the lights without knowing in the console. Everything works great right now. Needed a new blinker and brake light switch.
