Aftermarket ignition set-up question.

Post #1 by FletcherSyntax » Wed Jun 27, 2018 1:45 pm

I have a MSD coil installed on my 250 i6. I just ordered a Pertronix 1261 Ignitor Autolite 6 cyl to replace my points. Do I need to run the Ballast Resistor (0.8 Ohm) for this set up? I understand this reduces the power to the coil so it doesn't burn up the points but now that I won't have points, I don't want to underpower the ignition.

Yes with the Pertronix you can run a full 12 volts. Good luck
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.
