T5 Recommendation for a 65 mustang 200

I know there are many discussions already about the T5 swap. I just have one specific question. I have a guy who will build to order any T5. I also know that gear ratios differ from year to year. Is there a specific year that works best with a 1965 200, 2.77, 8.5" clutch. I have done moderate improvements including:
-dual exhaust with new header
-1980 cylinder head swap with enlarged valves and 302 springs
-direct mount 2 barrel Autolite 2100
-HEI distributor

This is a street car for me to both enjoy driving wherever I want, and as fast as I want. I am leaning toward the 1990-91 Mustang 5.0 T5. Anyone have an argument for or against that one, or a better suggestion? I'm probably over thinking this, but I figured that I would ask anyways.

This member went with the v8 t5 but don't know if that will help you.
I like your 65 Mustang and you have some good mods so far. That is pretty much what I would want in a 65 Mustang which I hope to get someday.

when deciding on which t5 to use you need to look at the entire drivetrain, mainly rear axle ratio. i ellected to use a 94 v8 t5 and a ford 8.8 spining 3.73. with the 26 inch tall 215/70/14 tire, i get 2200 at 70mph. this is due to a .68 overdrive ratio.
What rear ratio is in your rear axle, i beilve most were shipped with a 3.20 ish gear, so a 4 cyl might be a better fit. though they require a special pilot bearing. (smaller input shaft tip DIA).
What are your goals for the car.
