Vibration After shifting into reverse and drive

Post #1 by Tighthead123 » Thu May 14, 2020 12:45 pm

Hi All.
Transmission pan was leaking so I had to change seal.
Put a couple quarts of fluid back in. Turned car on to let it warm up to check levels. No weird sounds or vibrations . Checked fluid. Added let it warm up, until dipstick read full. Got in and put it in reverse, car started to shake/vibrate pretty good same in drive. Fluid is red and doesn’t smell. Car will go into gear and move but vibrates. Where to start?

Check out the driveshaft runs true and also the front and rear U Joints. Good luck

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Well embarrassingly it had nothing to do we tranny. It was carb and timing issues. I threw in timing light and adjusted to 12 degrees played with carb a bit and bam all good!! I guess I was being paranoid and like what’s next...
