That mustang rearend is four lug on a 4.25 bolt circle plus it has ears for coil spring suspension. And it is one of the widest 8.8. It takes two long axles from Aeerostar or Ranger to make it five lug; just to give you some idea. Now the Ranger rearend is about three inches narrower but it has the spring perches on the top; whereas the Explorer has the spring perches on the bottom; like your car. Don't forget to figure out the offset of the pinion compared to the placement of your driveshaft tunnel. Very few cars have the tunnel centered.
