Where to find information for Pontiacs "Dearborn" 3 speed.

Yes it's a Pontiac Dearborn transmission.
Yes it's a Ford transmission used in Pontiacs around 67. The three speed for use in my 61 is a Ford three speed that was used in a gm Pontiac, and converted back to Ford use, . As usual with a ford, there is an ID tag on the side, and it does not match any know Ford number.
It arrived with a gm tail housing and speedo drive, it now has a Ford housing,(truck) and Ford mainshaft.
Does anybody know a place where I can decode the tag. I just want to know for my self.
It also has a different set of ratios compared to any know Ford three speed.
I've been using David kee top loaders for information.

Yeah that's going to be tough to find any info on them. Try hunting for that year factory Pontiac's orginal service manuals. Good luck
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

NumberDummy on the Ford Truck forum.

and FoxChassis on Four Eyed Pride. This isn't a Ford issue, and they aren't GM guys, but they know where to look if there is a white box Ford part listing. They have hepled many times out of the goodness of there hearts. I've seen them both decode some seriously strange stuff before, just for kicks!

but :hmmm: There is lots of information on the internet.

My young engineering technicians used say about me and others, "the old guy suffers from typical Old C***+Itis....you know, where you ask something, and they just shake there head".
