67 Mustang - Automatic to Manual transmission

Post #1 by thestang » Sat May 12, 2018 12:40 pm

I was trying to see if i can swap out my automatic tranny to a manual. How difficult is this and how much would it cost me in total? Where would i get the parts? What would i need?

Just a run down please because my tranny isnt doing to good right now.

You either have to have time OR money a few have both.
The kits are plentiful, but pricey.I did most of mine in junkyards.
Bellhousing from a 74 mustang 2 ,flywheel from a 67 mustang,t5 from a mustang W.C.1990,8" from a 73 maverick, used bellcrank system from a 62 ranchero instead of hydraulic, just had to grind a little on the throwout arm for the larger bearing.
It's taken me 5 yrs to gather this and I don't think I've got$300 in those parts.I haven't installed the 8" yet,but I'll get there.
The worst part was.for me,hanging the pedal and all.I don't fold well anymore.
