Brake Pedal play and adjustment? 78 4x4

Post #1 by huntnfish08 » Tue Oct 22, 2019 4:53 pm

My brake lamp switch plunger doesn't fully depress when the brake pedal returns. I'm out of adjustment on the switch and have a bit of jiggle room. So obviously my brake lights stay on.

How can I adjust the resting pedal position out about 1/2 to 1 inch?

Hi, I don't remember details of the pedal and how it swings, but I have replaced plenty of brake light switches.
If you pull up on the pedal do the brake lights go out?
Does the pedal flop around on the shaft?
Are any bushing missing or broken?
I would check that out.
Good luck
B RON CO. Still workin' on it!
