Brake lines

Post #1 by 64-5mustang » Fri Dec 23, 2016 12:32 am

I'm converting to stock v8 front disk on a 65 6 cyinder pony, the car has a manual single res mc. I am likely to stay non assist, but will go to a duel mc maybe 7/8 bore? My main concern is what else do I need for brake lines, valves, and so forth. Thank you all for your help.

Hi, you will need a master cylinder ( double check the depth of the hole where the push rod goes ), a disc / drum proportioning valve and bracket, new brake lines or hose from the master to the proportioning valve, and probably a new front line to the front wheels. When I did this job on my Bronco, the proportioning valve screwed on to the line that feeds the rear brakes perfectly. I would also recommend a double flareing kit, a tubing cutter, and learn how to use it. Good luck
B RON CO. Still workin' on it!
