Bigger brakes on stock rear end

Post #1 by Tugg1202 » Sat Feb 11, 2017 7:43 am

I am wanting to put larger brakes on my stock 65 mustang. I currently have the 9X1.5" s and was looking online and some parts suppliers show to have 9X2.25" replacements. I need both the shoes and drums already and was hoping to be able to upgrade without much trouble. Does anyone know if this requires anything other than the shoes and drums to upgrade?
Thanks in advance.

You would need the brake backing plates for the 2.25 shoes too, and probally the brake hardware kit. Good luck

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

I was afraid of that. I was hoping it would be an easy swap.

Should be mostly a bolton though, if you can locate the baking plates from a Ranchero or Wagon.
