Dual Master clyinder export brace interference

Post #1 by 62Cometman » Wed Jul 05, 2017 12:33 pm

Hey all, I was trying to continue with my manual disc brake conversion on my 62 comet. I went with a scarebird conversion kit for the front and am keeping the original 7.25 drums for rear. Im switching to a dual master cylinder, and im having interference issues where the master cylinder is slightly too long and too tall and hits the export brace as I try to tighten up the bolts holding it in place. Has anyone else had this issue?? Id really rather not cut up the export brace to make it fit but im not 100% sure ill have an option. I have a new / refurbished original master that i could potentially put back in place but id rather not going disc brakes on the front and i also like the dual reservoir system for safety. ... 50597.html
The master cylinder

also the hole in the firewall is larger for the original mason jar master. Should I just use some plumber putty to fill in the gap?
