Useable brake boosters

Post #1 by Guest » Mon Nov 10, 2003 12:13 pm

Can anyone tell me what brake boosters will work with a '66 Coupe? It looks like I am going to need to replace mine (bad seal). Right now, I have a MC from an '82 Mustang for power brakes.

I'm looking for the cheapest one that I can adapt. I don't have alot of money for this fix - didn't anticipate replacing it.

Just returning to the forum and the first project is to get the brakes set up properly, finally!
I'm posting here after a search for subject similar to what I need to solve on my 66'.
My new setup (well from pre 2010 era) has never worked properly. The shop that did the work is out of business and it makes since why. The issue I need to solve is "Brake Pedal Height". With the current Input Rod Length, for this Booster, is too short. To get the pedal height above the accelerator I need to lengthen the rod by .625 to .875 inch. So inlays the issue.

Anyone have experience solving this issue.

Sorry for the lack of pics, I'm out of practice.
