Rear windows, 60’ Comet 2door

Post #1 by Spaceage60 » Thu Nov 16, 2017 3:18 pm

The rear windows roll 1/2 way down, both sides. Is this a safety feature? I’m replacing all the weather stripping so the doors are apart to remove the old. (After the new paint job of course)

There is a 3rd leg off of the window regulator that moves horizontally as the glass is rolled this the culprit? :?:

:hmmm: That doesn't sound like its right but do you have any pictures?
A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

With the 2 door Fal/Coms, the rear wheel well prevents the window from retracting all the way down:

When I did all the window channels on my '61, I found the replacement window channel for the rubber fuzzy below the window opening on the rear side of the front door did not meet the channel frame on the window opening. The original rubber insert had metal reinforcement but the replacement was all rubber/felt.
I had to weld a piece to join it to the upper channel in the opening:
