oem C4 / throttle linkage plate assmbly ; oem Engine Lift straps

Post #1 by chad » Tue Apr 02, 2019 1:33 pm

1st is a couppla plates (pivot pin between), a bracket w/a bent rod threaded thru, bolted to back of the log and up on carb.

2nd is just the frnt/rear 2 metal eyed straps to do an engine instal/removal. Curiously enuff some of the above is bolted to the same place on the log/exh manuel.

Use below personal e-mail if U would plez (or let's go to it after).
Thank you...

No numbers on them easily seen.

There is a BPN in the 9000 series that Ford has used in a 1979 Fox diagram from the Capri/Mustang/Fairmont/Zephyr Service manual. IMHO, in my experience, that doesn't help. When checking the SROD part numbers for the 1979 2.8 Mustang at Four Eyed Pride we found them on the 1979 Ford Service Manual in the transmission and gearbox part number section. 82GTforME posted them in the Tangerine Mustang 2.8 Coupe rebuild. Im on my cell phone, and this forum has locked me out of my laptop excess, so I cannot easily copy the link.

Everything has a Basic Part Number, but the numbers are unable to be seen easily.

oem C4 / throttle linkage plate assmbly ; oem Engine Lift straps

Post #5 by chad » Sun Apr 14, 2019 9:26 pm

that's pretty interesting as its much later than I thought ('79''n a 2.8 too).
I C the 'plate' one (rear of log, same bolts as rear pass side lift eye) - much more than the 'linage' one (not sure I ever saw it till U posted pic).
Yeah, obviously anything any one can do is appreciated.
--------------------
How bout 'lift eyes"? An actual prt or a CAD, some other way to take of measurements to a 1/4 plate...
I think plasma cutter'od B a nice way to produce. My torch wrk don't look so nice now I'm done :nono:
Gunna take as much hand wrk as my port divider did !

1bad6t and 82GTforME have listed the 1973-1979 Ford Part manual.

This is not the post, but an example of the extensive factory drawings, and the part numbers.

If you search Stormin'Norman's and 1bad6tposts, the document reference is there under the EVTM and VECI details.

You have to do the leg work on this my friend, but there is a downshift linkage picture with 9000 series BPN's in it, and the hoist brackets are included too. It was the same part from 1969- 1983.

Example FYI:

FoMoCo parts manual disc for 73-79 cars

''78 and '79 "External Parts: clutch, clutch and brake pedal"

82GTforME wrote:From what I can decipher out of the maze in the parts manual. Confusing to find things when there are 4-speed "Ford style", 4-speed "German Style", SR4 (RAD) and SROD all in there. Also from what I could see was the 3-speed was available on the 73-77 Bronco/Maverick/Torino, 75-78 Granada and 78 Fairmonts :noesrun:

(PS: my parts manual disc is for 73-79 cars so I cannot say if these were used in later years)

Oh, and the bell I would like for the 79 2.8 is a one year only.

I'm certain there are high resolution pictures of bracket BPN 9728.

Just can't find em.

1969-1983 200/3.3 or 1969-1980 250/4.1 is whacha whacha whachawant...

Every C9 onwards head till E0 had the two bolt hole boss cast into the back part of the head, some early ones weren't drilled.

from http://www.fomoco.org/tech-tips/how-to- ... t-numbers/

BPN
9500-9599 is the Carburetor
9700-9999 = Accelerator and choke control rods

As of the advent of the C5 and AOD, it went to a cable linkage on the YFA Big Sixes, but the er 1969-1970-1/2 Falcon, 69-73 250 Mustang, 69-77 Comete/Maverick/1975-1983 Granada/1975-1980 Monarch/1979-1982 Mustang/Capri/ 1978-1983 Fairmont/Zephyr all used a rod oprated version.

The internal BPN number will most likely be #9728

the 6 cylinder 240/300 F-Truck and E-Van system.

It should be under the Ford Six Performace old Classic in lines tech articles

Its not under 1bad6t.coms 170/200/250 69-77 Maverick rod operated kickdown linkages.

They were under this link

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1146 ... s-etc.html

Both the Big Six and Small six rod operated kickdown bracket were similar, but not 100% the same.

The #9728 C4 and C5 kickdown rod bracket on the 1978 to 1985 non feedback carb F100/150'S has a similar musroom on the rod as the stock Small Six 1969-1983 rod operated kickdown.

The 1983-1986 cable operated bracket is #9728, and near the 57632-S (U-10-A) picture for later TFi equiped EECOV 4.9 liter truck and Van YFA Carter, for AOD 4speed autos.
