78 DA complete motor and parts/ aussie crossflow

Post #1 by falconator1964 » Thu Oct 05, 2017 3:44 pm

I have a 78 DA 3.3 /200 castiron crossflow motor, gaskets, 2 & 4 barrel manifolds (stock and Redline) header,C4 bellhousing, custom electronic ignition / distributor. Had motor in 1964 Falcon and won "Home Built Heaven award " at Goodguys show. Motor was completely rebuilt at engine shop, Everything was new. Had a problem with a cam lobe , didn't break in motor correctly, Think I wasn't patient and reved it too much ! pulled motor out and was going to get a new cam but got busy and never did. motor has less than 1,000 miles on it. Time to move on so let me know if someone is interested in a Great motor. Have a lot of gaskets, and extra parts. Have pictures

We normally do not post a for sale as your first post, but what you are selling in special.
Do you plan to install another 200 engine in its place??
You may want to post price & location. Best of luck on a sale.

You cannot use a PM till you have over 5 posts. You will have to correspond by email, or by phone.

Not sure what is going on ? Every time someone contacts me and says they are interested in the motor and parts I respond back and send pictures. And then they never respond back or answer my messages ? Not sure if my response is going to "junk mail" Still looking to sell, Thanks

The fact that it is a 200 and not a 250 may be holding them back. The 3.3L Crossflow has a rod/stroke ratio of 2.0 and would be a rever.

Your 3.3 is a good candidate for a stroker. Offset the crank 0.23", install 90-99 VW Jetta 2.0L rods with 89-93 GM 3.3L V6 pistons (3.70" bore, 1.31" CH) giving you 231ci with a rod/stroke ratio of 1.746. The GM pistons have around a 13cc recess, but the zero deck block helps.

Something to think about.
