170 Engine for Sale

Post #1 by Gene Fiore » Tue Mar 20, 2018 10:51 am

I am posting this for a friend of mine. He has a 1970 Maverick that he has pulled the 170 engine out of. Don't know if it runs or not but it is complete from the oil pan to the original air cleaner. It has a D3 head on it. He lives in the north Phoenix area. If anyone is interested just reply to this post and I will contact the seller. Thanks!

Man, I would really be interested in seeing what that head looks like. There were some late year 170 heads that had small combustion chambers and not the big 62cc ones.

So are you saying you are only interested in the head depending on the size of the chambers?

Complete? When I looked at it everything was there...from oil pan to air cleaner. Anything specific you are questioning? Let me see if he can send me over some pics.

Here are some pics of the engine from all sides. He said the engine turns over and he also has the original 3 speed manual trans.

Yes depending on the price. I do have a real nice 2.77 and factory ford floor shifter out of a 65 Mustang but then again that would require a different bell and clutch setup to be able fit.
