1953 F250 300 i6 build

Post #1 by mtphammer » Sun Nov 23, 2014 1:54 am

This is my first post on this forum, but I've been registered awhile and browsing for even longer. I am using a 1990 f150 engine: offy dual port intake, edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Trans is a 1989 zf s5-42. Swapped the rear axle to a 1987 full float Dana 60 with posi. Front 8 lug disc brakes with boosted dual piston master cylinder.

Your picture links didn't work (maybe they need to be separated). I am interested in seeing details of your swap, as am thinking of doing the same to my 56 F350. Good luck

I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone! :bang: 1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Thank you for the compliment. The front discs are a kit from TSM manufacturing. They are the stock 8x6.5 bolt pattern. The kit uses 1985-87 chevy one ton calipers. Here's a link to the kit: http://www.tsmmfg.com/1853.html

you can use the dual piston caliper in front if you like its part number e 8595 from napa if my memory serves.
i use them often to replace the single piston caliper.
a long love affair with the 300 six.
my lastest and final fling is a fresh 300 in an 88 ford f350 dually 4X flatbed

 excellent glad you got it driveable really very nice! I bet it's really a pleasure now to drive it compared to the old stock setup! Back in the day I use to drive an original 1955 F350 Stake Bed with Dump that my Dad had, it was a real workout. ::nod:
