Hello everyone! Pretty happy I've found this forum.
So I have a 1994 f-150 with the 4.9 automatic 2wd and loving it! One owner, garage kept and all service records with 135k miles. Anyway, had to replace the starter and when the old one came off, the top bolt came with some shavings from the transmission. So now that bolt will not tighten up.. anyone know if the BH goes all the way through for a longer bolt and lock nut combo? Or if it would be possible to tap / use Heli-Coil without destroying the starter or trans?

Re: New starter issue
You should be able to remove the starter and install a hei coil to repair the trans case hole fairly easy. In that way the stock size starter bolts will still work. Good luck

A bad day Drag Racing is still better than a good day at work!
I am still hunting for a project car to build but with my current low budget it's not looking so good. My Ex- Fleet of Sixes these are all long gone!
1954 Customline 223 3 speed with O/D, 1963 Fairlane project drag car with BB6, 1977 Maverick 250 with C4, 1994 F-150 a 300 with 5 speed.

Re: New starter issue
Alright I will give it a go when I find some free time. Thanks for the response!
