Changes in the Schjeldahl "Ford Falcon Six" Handbook...Since 2000?

Post #1 by GreasyNRusty » Mon Jun 03, 2019 2:37 pm

I found my old copy of Dennis'n'David S.' "Ford Falcon Six Cylinder Performance Handbook" in the unmarked  box it was buried in, reread the thing (the book, not the box)--great fun, totally informative, hugely nostalgic--and I am NOT criticizing the Handbook in any way...but it is the 2000 edition, notably missing crankshaft info and deliberately not dealing with the Oz head much less the aluminium head.

Several cool things have happened since then, and I am wondering if the current edition covers crankshaft, Oz/Aluminium heads, EFI, etc.?

I believe there is a section on the CI aluminum, OZ head and the Argentinian head. Not sure about anything else. Lately I have been considering a new copy mine is getting worn from use. You could contact the author by email.

I've been thinking the same thing... I've actually thought of proposing a melding of the minds per se.

I bet we could dig up the *best* posts from here and add them to the manual. So as to not affect VI (support those who support you) I'd propose an addendum for the existing printed copies. A new version there after.

I would be willing to edit it... i've already written 3 books, (in Clarkson voice) how hard can it be?
