Can anyone tell me what 6 my parents had

Post #1 by JohnMcD348 » Sun Apr 26, 2009 4:23 pm

I learned to work on engines helping my dad keep our 74-75 Mercury Comet(Maverick) running. I think it was either a 200 or 240. My dad couldn't remember except he said it was a very low power 6 cylinder. We did everything short of rebuilding that engineto keep that car running until we bought our next new car an 87 Cavalier...

Getting back into enging work and such I was just curious what the motor was that I worked on back when I was just a 7year old learning the differences between Metric and Standard. The one major problem area that I remember with that car was the Electronic ignition box that was in them. It had that epoxy filled box tat held the board and after awhile it would cause the circuits to overheat and we'd have to replace it.
