stumbling at idle and acceleration

Hi all,

I've got a 170 six with lom dizzy and 1100 vaporiser.
The problem:
when hitting the accelerator the engine hesitates
very hard starting when cold.
I don't seem to have power at higher rpm.

Already done
poured in a bottle of carb cleaner and drove approx 500 km's
checked vac: 22/23 inches/hg
idle speed is set around 510 rpm
set my throttle linkage correct: at pedal to metal I have WOT
cleaned pcv system
set my valves

Suspects:
fuell filter, been there for approx 25000 km's
Plugs, same story as filter
Acc pump

Oli use, almost none
fuell 22 mpg last tank, average 20 mpg

I think I melted the exhoust donut gasket!

Input is appreciated.

1. The accelerator pump diagram could need to be replaced, or it likely needs to be adjusted to give a better or longer shot, it also may be getting too much of a shot and bogging. Will take some experimenting to find out.
2. Hard starting when cold points to choke that is not setup correctly.
3. Not having power at higher RPM's is normal of these stock log engine's even my 250 hits a wall. A slightly richer jet may help you some Have does the plug color look? A different rear gear ratio might help or a change to an overdrive trans (5 speed) if you need the car to go faster. Otherwise it looks as if your tune is very good by the high vacuum and good MPG your getting. Changing the distributor from the (LOM) to newer electronic one with mechanical advance and a bigger carb would be a good change if you want to mod it.
