New owner exhaust question

Post #1 by Phoneman7 » Mon Jul 21, 2014 12:08 am

Picked up a 1967 military bronc that has a 68 falcon 200 in it. Its painted now and reasembly starts tomorrow. Thinking about putting a header on it and heard classic makes one for the bronco Is a header and a single flowmaster or turbo muffler worth it?

It depends on what you mean by worth it. If you want the sound, by all means grab a header and better flowing muffler. If you're looking for a good seat-of-the-pants feeling from it, you might be disappointed. Anything you can do to get a 200 flowing better will help, but you may not feel the power until you really dig into it.

I guess I never saw this post. If you are looking for relatively inexpensive performance increase then along with a header install a DSII ignition. And a carb off a 250.
Get a copy of the Falcon Performance Handbook it explains a lot.
66 Bronco-1970 250, NV3550, DSII, 4 turn ps, uncut, 1" bl, 2.5" sl, front disc, twin stick D 20, 30 x 9.50
NEXT- direct mount 2v, power brakes, rear LS, 3G, electric fan, electric upgrades, custom curved DSII, header, 31" tires

New guy? Get the Falcon Performance Handbook and Ford six high performance parts from

I have a 250 carb from a 79 Granada 250. I am cleaning out my garage and selling off stuff. PM me if you are interested.
