That is an awesome build. I too have a 250 in my 65. What did you use for the motor mounts to lower the engine in the engine bay? I saw the pictures but cant tell what they are from. I'm running stock 200 mounts and the engine barely leaves any room for a carb or air cleaner.

I used a 72 Maverick frame mount with a set of adjustable that mount to engine.

most the guys here say: the "late Mav mounts"
which isa mount/tower riveted together at the mating faces oem.
There's bout 1/2 doz ways to 'raise the hood'. I can PM w/interest~
Let's hear more bout post 41...?

Thanks for the pictures! Where did you get the adjustable engine side mounts? I tried searching but can't find anything that looks similar. I bought some 69 mustang 250 mounts, but the isolators are shot. I do think they can be used to lower the engine in the copartment, just need to be creative with the mounts that bolt to the engine.

or weld'n cut like this guy.
rubbers look like spring shackle bushins...
U can pour ur own outta a can (2 part goop).

Again, 'late Mav oem". Ck above tech archive or "the Handbook"...
(No? pm 4 the other 1/2 doz "raise da hood" work-a-rounds). C below

Hello,
You mentioned you have several ways to increase hood clearance?
AVS
------------------
yes, 4 awhile I wuz the frd6 “holder of" such a list (altho a 'truck' rather than 'car' guy). The 60s/70s fords R known for this ‘problem’.
Lemmie C if I can re-develop:

1) suspension lift (yes, in some cases)
2) body lift
3) hood scoop
4) direct mount carb
5) remote air cleaner housing or carb hat & hose
6) late Mav towers and mounts
7) low rise carbs (RBS @ 215 cfm; 1100/1 @ ? cfm)

seems there were a copula more (2). All can B adapted w/in themselves as well (I'll use 1st half of #5) like the thread starter here (custom mounts'n towers). Several can B combined (also my need). Most R also performance mods as well...

Add to our list if U can,
- -Chad
BTW: like the vee middle initial. Gave my daughter 1 as well...

Sniper has arrived still waiting on the new intake fuel pump/sending unit. That should arrive in a couple of weeks.

Driving it now with the Holley 390 carb. Need to advance the timming a bit. But big difference from the 200

Glad to hear that it's already running yeah you got to love all that extra torque of the 250 over a 200. (y)

Im dropping a 250 into a 67. I have a set of 69 Mustang 250 mounts with a nice set of isolators.

I believe that a 70 Dart isolator can be modified to work on the 69 Mustang mount as well. There are a couple different 70 Dart mounts, just need to figure out which ones to use.
